Key Points for Obtaining a Master’s or Doctoral Degree Under the Supervision of CEPO Faculty Members

From Research Student to Master's Program

You can use your status as a research student as preparation for entering a master’s program. By coming to Japan as a research student, you can take courses such as research proposal writing workshops and introductory economics courses, and then apply for the OSIPP master’s program entrance examination. Although this does not guarantee admission, it can help you develop the skills necessary to obtain a master’s degree at OSIPP.

From Master's Student to P.h.D Student

To enroll in the OSIPP doctoral program and become a student supervised by CEPO faculty members, it is important to acquire the essential skills required for conducting research in Evidence-Based Policy Making and to demonstrate the ability to write academic papers. In particular, CEPO faculty members place great importance on academic performance in Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, and Econometrics. The course requirements for these subjects may vary depending on the supervisor. Please consult your prospective supervisor regarding the specific requirements for becoming a doctoral student.
